About
I began as an Industrial Designer, who then did a second degree in Computer Science.
I started designing things as a teenager, back then it was skateboard ramps and rails. Since then I've worked as an Engineer in mining, I've designed particle accelerators, tools and equipment for nuclear research. I've designed display stands, park shelters, drinking fountains, smart light poles, luminaires. I've crawled through factories locally and abroad on Quality Control projects. I've worked in InfoSec. I've worked on planes. I currently work in Software Engineering in a DevOps sense.
This is what I'm doing next. I've been experimenting with AI since I was at university. If you could have told me 10 years ago about the capabilities of AI today I wouldn't have believed you. But maybe more interesting than the capabilities, are the glaring gaps in the capabilities. The blind spots, the hard parts, the errors and frustrations. These gaps are where the interesting work is. The delta between the output and the expectation โ this is y-hat.
